Romeo and Juliet

May 4-5, 2019
LFJCC Rehearsal Room
Directed by Erin Peterson

It is summer in Verona, the air shimmers with heat. The tension is palpable with street brawls, family feuds, and ancient animosities. Welcome to the hothouse atmosphere of Romeo and Juliet where, in the instant of a chance meeting, two young people fall in love. This production directed by Erin Petersen will bring this 14th century drama closer to our own experiences. Performances will take place in the JCompany Rehearsal Room. Not recommended for young children. This MODERN retelling will include: guns and weapons, violence and vulgarity.

1776 Presented by JCompany Youth Theatre

May 11-19, 2019
David & Dorothea Garfield Theatre
Directed by Joey Landwehr

It's the summer of 1776, and the nation is ready to declare independence... if only our founding fathers can agree to do it! 1776 follows John Adams of Massachusetts, Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania and Thomas Jefferson of Virginia as they attempt to convince the members of the Second Continental Congress to vote for independence from the shackles of the British monarchy by signing the Declaration of Independence. 1776 is a funny, insightful and compelling drama with a striking score and legendary book.
JCompany’s production will be led by an all female cast!
