Laughing With The Bard

This class will cover all things Shakespearean COMEDY! Learn classic warm-ups, practice scenes with your fellow actors, and work on creating some of the most hilarious characters from Shakespearean theatre. Students will leave having studied uproarious Shakespeare scenes, comprehending their jokes, and with the confidence needed to make each other laugh!

Acing The Vocal Callback

This class will focus on teaching students how to stand out in any callback situation! They can be nerve wracking, stressful, and competitive... but it can be a positive experience if you stop focusing on comparing yourself to others and work your own vocal improvement and character choices! Students will be given a song based on their vocal range and will learn how to personalize the story and leave a lasting impression in the call back room.

Much Ado About Tragedy

This class will cover all things Shakespearean TRAGEDY! Learn classic warm-ups, practice scenes with your fellow actors, and work on creating some of the biggest tragic heros from Shakespearean theatre. Students will leave having studied drama-filled Shakespeare scenes and with the confidence needed to hold the audience in the palm of your hand!

Ballet for Musical Theatre

Ages 7-11
This class will allow students the opportunity to explore the world of ballet and the many Broadway shows that use ballet technique - CATS, WEST SIDE STORY, and OKLAHOMA - just to name a few! While learning basic ballet technique for the stage, students will learn fun and exciting combinations inspired by musical theatre's best.

Storytelling Through Song

How is musical theatre different than just listening to music? The storytelling! This class teaches young artists performance-level vocals as well as the skills to act and making the audience BELIEVE. Students will sing a variety of ensemble numbers as well as learning the skills needed to be a soloist. They will also leave with an understanding of music theory for musical theatre.

JCompany is proud to partner with the San Diego Center for Jewish Culture for this special class! Caroline Rothstein is an award-winning New York City-based spoken word poet, journalist, activist and educator. In this master class students will learn from this exceptional artist who was called a “very inspiring woman” by Lady Gaga. Known internationally for sharing her personal story unfiltered, unabashed, and unashamed, her motto is “From Adversity Comes Triumph,” empowering individuals to embrace self-love and authenticity.

Upon signing up for this master class, you will receive ONE ticket to the performance. Parents are responsible for arranging student transportation to and from the performance. Due to content, no students younger than 13 will be added to this class.

Dan Wolf Master Class

JCompany is proud to partner with the San Diego Center for Jewish Culture for this special class! Dan Wolf is an actor, rapper, playwright, director, producer and educator. His work crosses artistic and cultural borders to combine conventional theater styles with the themes, language, music, history, politics, and aesthetics of the Hip-Hop generation. In this Master Class, students will learn from this incredible playwright and performer than attend the world premier of his solo play, End of Silence.

Upon signing up for this master class, you will receive ONE ticket to the performance. Parents are responsible for arranging student transportation to and from the performance. Due to content, no students younger than 13 will be added to this class.

As One Enrollment Fee 18-19

Register for the 2018-2019 season of As One Vocal Ensemble and learn the art of choral singing, make new JCompany friends, and become a better performer!

Performances & Recitals: To be announced and ongoing throughout the 25th season (August 2018–July 2019).

Rehearsals: Are held once weekly on Sundays from 4:00–5:00 PM. Some other rehearsals may be scheduled as needed.
