DROP BOX NOTE!

If you are cast in one of the 2015 RAW Readings, please standby for an e-mail invitation to the Dropbox folder for that reading. These e-mails will be sent out on Monday, April 27th. The Dropbox for each session will have that reading’s rehearsal schedule, script, score, cast list, music files, dramaturgical component, and all other helpful information loaded on it for easy access. 

All R.A.W. artists ARE REQUIRED to use Dropbox to participate in this program

 

SATURDAY EVENING (POST-SHABBAT) SCHEDULING NOTE!

If you are cast in one of the 2015 RAW Readings, please note: we may add a day to our rehearsal schedule.  Please keep the Saturday evening prior to the start of each rehearsal OPEN for a potential late night cast dinner/read-through. If you are cast in the Mystery Flavor Reading, relax!  We will not rehearse on July 4th! Enjoy!

PREPARATION NOTE!

We will put each show up in 5 days. 

KNOW YOUR SHOW BEFORE YOU GO TO YOUR FIRST REHEARSAL!

Listen to the music!  Watch filmed versions! Read source material! Study your script (all parts!)

This is R.A.W. There is no safety net! There is no time to catch up!

Be Prepared!

 

CAST MEMBERS MUST BRING THE FOLLOWING TO EACH REHEARSAL:

 

  • A copy of the script, score, and dramaturgical component (found on Drop Box).Please download, bind or put in a 3-ring binder and be sure to write your name on your script to ensure it can be recovered should you leave it behind. PLEASE NOTE: If you are cast in the MYSTERY FLAVOR Reading, you will receive these on the first day of rehearsal J
  • A RECORDING DEVICE –this is a MUST, you need to acquire this in advance and have it with you at this first rehearsal with out fail.
  • A notebook for taking notes
  • Sharpened pencils (mechanical pencils preferred, that way you never miss the point!)
  • WATER to keep hydrated
  • Clean, healthy snacks! We will be working long hours – come prepared to work!

 

There are NO Parent Meetings for R.A.W. Sessions 

 

READING TICKETS:

All young artists involved in a R.A.W. Series reading will receive 10 tickets to the reading for friends and family.  These will be distributed on the first day of rehearsal.  Additional tickets to each reading will be available for purchase at the door on the day of each performance for $10.00 each.

 

PAYMENT PROCESSING NOTE:

  • If you auditioned and were NOT cast in a RAW Series, your reading fee will not be processed.
  • If you auditioned and were CAST in one reading, you will only be charged for that reading’s production fee.
  • If you auditioned and were CAST in two readings, you will only be charged for the production fees for those two readings.
  • If you auditioned and were CAST in all readings you selected, all fees you turned will be processed.
  • All summer master class registration fees are non-refundable.

  • We are not able to offer refunds once auditions have concluded.

AUDITION INFORMATION
Auditions for Disney’s Mary Poppins will take place at the LFJCC on:
Monday, May 11th from 4:00 - 6:00pm
Tuesday, May 12th from 4:00 - 6:00pm
Callbacks will take place on Wednesday, May 13th from 4:00 - 6:00pm

HOW TO SCHEDULE YOUR AUDITION:
We are so excited for your audition! Contact J*Company Managing Director Jamie Gillcrist at: jamieg@lfjcc.org or 858-362-1155 to schedule your audition appointment! We are happy to help answer any questions you might have about our audition process!

WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR AUDITION:
Please be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled audition time to check in with our audition table and process your paperwork. Our audition check-in tables will be set up next to the LFJCC Box Office. Be sure to bring sheet music for your audition song (no cds please), a recent picture or headshot (school photos work!), and your completed audition paperwork and class registration form. All young artists auditioning for a J*Company show must register for a J*Company class.

Call Back NOTE:
Please check this web site after 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12th to see if you have been selected to attend Call Backs. If you are not called back this does not mean you are not being considered for the Cast, it simply means the show's director doesn’t require you to attend Call Backs, so be sure to check the web site again for the final Cast List which will be posted by 4:00 pm on the Friday following Call Backs.

Audition Eligibility Requirement NOTE:
• Class enrollment forms must be submitted prior to or at the time of your audition. 2015 Fall Session I Class descriptions and enrollment forms can be found on our classes page.
• All students 8th grade and younger must be enrolled in a class during 2015 Fall Session I to be eligible to audition. Audition Workshops & Master classes are not applicable for this requirement.
• All students 9th grade and older must be enrolled in a Master Class during 2015 Fall Session I to be eligible to audition.

Payment Processing NOTE:
If you are cast in this production, the production fee* ($220/JCC members and $265/ non-members) and lunch fee collected at your audition appointment will be processed on the day the Cast List is posted. If you are not cast in this production, your production fee and lunch fee will NOT be processed. All Class Registration fees are non-refundable.

THANK YOU to everyone who will audition for Disney’s Mary Poppins and congratulations on doing your very best!

If you have been cast in Disney’s Mary Poppins, you will receive an e-mail with exciting information about the production, your script, and your music, after the cast list has been posted, no later than June 1st, 2015

Disney’s Mary Poppins rehearsals will begin on Monday, August 17th from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. in the Rehearsal room. Please arrive promptly and be sure to sign-in on the clipboard (hanging by the bulletin board).

Cast members must come prepared to ALL rehearsals with the following:
• A copy of the script (which you must download from this website – available June 1st). Please bind or put in a three-ring binder and write your name on it to ensure it can recovered should you leave it behind.

• A recording device – this is a MUST: you need to acquire this in advance and have it with you at this first rehearsal without fail.

• Dressed and ready to move at the top of every rehearsal. Please wear appropriate footwear (no flip flops!).

• A notebook for notes and a second notebook for our Educational Component (details given at first rehearsal).

• Sharpened pencils (mechanical pencils preferred - that way you never miss the point!).

• Water to keep hydrated. Absolutely no soda, Jamba Juice, coffee or other beverages are permitted at rehearsals. Water must be in a bottle with a closeable lid to avoid spills and messes.

MANDATORY PARENT MEETING

FULL PARENT MEETING
Wednesday, August 19th from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

This meeting is MANDATORY for all cast parents (new and returning). At least one parent or guardian (per cast member) MUST BE present at this entire meeting. If you are unable to attend, please make sure you send someone else in your place to pick up the Parent Packet, get important information about rehearsal process, cast safety, committee structure, parent commitment, tech week, and details about costumes, food and cast party.

If you are cast in this production, WEST SIDE STORY, rehearsals will begin on:
Monday, March 9th from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Rehearsal room.

This is a change from our previously announced Tuesday, March 10th start day.
Thank you for updating your schedules accordingly! AND thank you for reading through our WEST SIDE STORY Rehearsal Schedule thoroughly (attached at the bottom of this page).

Please arrive promptly and be sure to sign-in on the clipboard (hanging by the bulletin board).

CAST MEMBERS MUST BRING THE FOLLOWING TO EACH & EVERY REHEARSAL:

• A copy of the script & music (there are 2 music files you must download). You must download these from this website. They are posted below on this J* Company audition webpage. Please download, bind or put in a 3-ring binder and be sure to write your name on your script to ensure it can be recovered should you leave it behind.
• A RECORDING DEVICE –this is a MUST, you need to acquire this in advance and have it with you at this first rehearsal with out fail.
• Dressed (see below for female rehearsal attire needs) and ready to move at the top of every rehearsal, please wear appropriate footwear (no flip flops at all!!)
• REHEARSAL ATTIRE: Ladies, please bring knee-length circle rehearsal skirts to each and every rehearsal.
• REHEARSAL SHOES: ALL Shark Girls & Jet Girls: Character Shoes (any style).
ALL Shark & Jet Male Characters: Lace-up jazz shoes.
• A notebook for taking notes and another for our Educational Component (details given at first rehearsal)
