Musicians in the Making is a program of the Look & Listen: Performing Art Series which provides an opportunity for emerging young musicians to perform in a concert setting. Benjamin Brogadir, 15, is a sophomore at the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA). Pianist and operatic baritone, Elliott Wulff, 17, is a senior at Rancho Bernardo High School. Free & open to the public.

Where and when does modern Jewish history begin? There is no single date or address that marks the beginning of modern Jewish history. Rather, modernity is a process that unfolds over time. This class examines the processes of modernity--including the emergence of enlightenment philosophy, liberalism, and mercantilism -- and their impact on individual and communal Jewish life in Germany, France, and Russia.

Glass is a medium that is inextricably linked to the technical skills that its maker possesses. The mastery of the process enables glass artists and artisans to make pieces that are truly extraordinary, whether they be blown, etched, or fused. These techniques will be on display at “Sand 'n Fire: The Wonder of Glass” as we showcase local Jewish artists who express their creativity through this malleable material. Featuring artists Garry Cohen, Leslie Perlis, Ilanit Shalev, James Stone, and Keith Wahl.
